Bronzer, primer and a free gift!

Sooo, i’ve had over a months break from blogging!  University’s just really got in the way, and being a student, i’ve not really had much money to spend on fashion or beauty related things.  Luckily, I saved a few coppers this week and managed to spend them all in one go in boots……well I got a free gift with my purchases so not too bad, right?

So, as you can see, I bought the L’oreal glam bronze bronzer and the lumi magique primer and got a little box of goodies to go along with it 馃檪

I went into boots on a mission to find a new primer and bronzer and after spotting the free gift you got when you spent 拢15 or over on L’Oreal, I decided to get both tihngs from there.  I have really loved all the things i’ve tried from L’Oreal in the past and so I was fairly certain I would be able to find a good bronzer and primer.

The first thing I picked up was the primer.  I already have the lumi magique foundation and so I thought using the primer that goes with it should probably help my makeup to stay put better than others might.  I have tested this out now and am happy to say I really like it!

I orignally thought it would be waay too shimmery for me and leave me looking like a glitterball, but when it’s properly applied, it’s only a really faint shimmer, wihch I like.  It also makes my skin feel baby smooth and definitely helps to keep my makeup in place!  It retails for 拢9.99.  Towards the expensive end of things, but worth it I think.

I then decided on the glam bronze bronzer.  Mainly, because I love the shimmery leopard print on it.  The shimmer goes after you’ve used it a couple of times, so your cheeks aren’t left looking to glittery.  The colour is perfect for me and the only criticism I have is that it’s so pigmented!

When I first applied it I looked like a drag queen! So apply this one carefully.  It comes with a mirror in it and a handy brush, which is actually perfect for applying bronzer for contouring before buffing it out to give a less severe look.  This was also 拢9.99, so again expensive but it definitely feels worth the price and I think it will last me a good while.

So after spending just under 拢20, I got a nice little gift for free! The box included a few samples and them full sized mascara, lipstick and nail polish, which I thoght was definitely worth spending the 拢20!

I already have the volume million lashes luminizer for blue eyes and I really love it so I was happy to ge this dimantissime version of this which actually has flecks of silver in it.  It’s a lovely mascara and althoough it doesn’t really volumise my lashes much, it definitely gives them a bit of length and a lift, which is nice for a more daytime look.

The brush of the mascara also make sit feel like every lash is caught and coated, giving them a bit more of a curl.

The free gift also cam with a shimmery red lipstick, which I am so excited to use for my christmas ball (which is this wednesday, eek!).  It looks really lovely on and the shimmer to it make sit look extra christmassy.  This may not be down everyone street but it’s definitely down mine!

Finally was a nailpolish which I will definitely be using as a top coat to a lot of my nailpolishes to make them more shimmery (i’ve said that a lot in this post!).  It’s a really beautiful luminesent nail polish that looks like lilac sparkle over my Barry M capuchino nail polish.

As well as this L’Oreal free gift, i’ve had my eye on the Max Factor and No 7 one so hopefully if I save a bit this week i’ll be able to splurge some more on makeup goodies 馃檪

thanks for reading!

Topshop-Dark side of Nude: the lipsticks

DSCN2373

Forgive me as I have sinned.

Yes, while out on a perfectly innocent food shopping trip, I somehow managed to wander into the local Topshop (BIG error!!) and picked up the two new lipsticks from Topshop’s Dark side of nude collection.聽 I did orignally plan to just stick to the one….but after swatching them both, I ended up walking out with both!!

The two shades are ‘Wicked’ and ‘Fawn’ and they both retail for 拢9.聽 As a student, 拢9 is quite steep for a lipstick but I decided to treat myself.

‘Wicked’ is a lovely deep berry colour which is perfect for the festive season, especially christmas parties!!聽 I can see this beeing the most popular of the two lipsticks from the collection.

‘Fawn’ is a nice peachy nude colour which I absolutely love.聽 It really suits my skintone and gives a nice my lips but better look.聽 I think this will be really great for toning down my makeup if I go for a smokey eye one night.聽 It’s also such a good match for me, that I can easliy just slick it on then go!

What do you think of the new Topshop lipsticks?

lots of love

A mini body shop haul

They had a 50% off sale on some items at my local Body shop, so how could I resist picking up a few things??

It was their retro shower gels that firstly attracted me into the store and after smelling the green apple one, I knew I had to have it!  It smells exactly like apple sourz, a favourite of mine, and only cost me 拢2.  I’m so glad I picked this up as I love the smell and i’m sure it’ll last me a decent amount of time.

Then, while I was queuing, this moroccan rose hand cream caugt my eye.  I love the smell of it and as it was only 拢3, I thought what the hell and decided to treat myself to it.  I have really been trying to get into the habit of using hand cream more, especially as winter is approaching fast!  Hopefully having this beaut in my bag will encourage me to use it daily,

What do you think of the body shop’s products? Any you would reccomend to me?

Superdrug haul-Vaseline, MUA and Max Factor

The first thing I picked up in Superdrug was a new MUA eyeshadow primer.  I’ve had my other one for quite a while now, so I thought it was about time I got a new one.

I feel this really works well at making sure my eyeshadow stays put and for only 拢3.50, it really is a bargain.

The second thing I picked up was the limited edition pink bubbly vaseline.
To be honest, I really feel like this was a waste of my money.  There’s basically no scent to it and when applied to the lips, it just comes off as clear, so no different than applying normal vaseline really.

This cost me around 拢3.50, which I think is way too expensive for a little tin of vaseline.

Finally I bought a new nail polish from Max Factor.

I picked up the colour odyssey blue.  It really is a beautiful deep shimmery blue.  I wanted to get a nice navy blue polish for winter/autumn, and i’m so glad I picked this up.

I’ll definitely be rocking this throughout winter 馃檪

It cost around 拢4, but definitely worth it if I use up the whole bottle.

lots of love

FOTD-Vampy

As the winter months are getting closer I鈥檝e decided to take inspiration from the Autumn/winter 2012 makeup styles that were shown on the runway.  The trend I鈥檝e been most getting in to is definitely the more vampy/gothic look, with simple eye makeup (I just used a slick of eyeliner), flawless skin and a deep berry lip.  It鈥檚 quite an easy look to do but immediately makes you look more polished and dressed up.

I used:

Body shop eye shadow in Amethyst

         Maybelline lasting drama gel eyeliner

         L鈥橭real million lashes mascara

         Body shop eyeliner in black

Collection lasting perfection concealer in light

         Rimmel match perfection bronzer

         Benefit鈥檚 sun beam

         Nars Orgasm blush

         Revlon colorburst lipstick in plum

Sorry!! New video :)

Firstly I have to say sorrry for not posting on here for an absolute aage!

Uni has been keeping me really busy, and I haven’t really had the time to blog or the money to spend on new beauty items.  Hopefully i’ll get back into it sometime soon though 馃檪

On another note here’s a video I uploaded a few days ago, it’s a tutorial for deep lips and a neutral eye, hope you enjoy!
